When BTC and BTC.D are correlated, alts aren't mimicking bitcoin's price action with bigger amplitudes (in % terms). It suggests more fundamental demand for BTC and less manipulation/speculation. It looks as though alts (on average) are starting to ride bitcoin's price action again, as BTC and BTC.D are seemingly back to moving inversely.
