AAVE / TetherUS

What is AAVE?

216
Aave is a decentralized financial protocol that allows people to lend and borrow cryptocurrency.

Lenders earn interest by depositing digital assets into specially created liquidity pools. Borrowers can then use their cryptocurrency as collateral to get a quick loan using that liquidity.

Aave (which means "ghost" in Finnish) was originally called ETHLend at the time of launch in November 2017, but in September 2018 it was rebranded and changed its name to Aave. (This helps to understand why the ticker of this token is so different from its name!)

AAVE provides its holders with preferential commissions on the platform, and is also a governance token and gives its holders a vote to determine the future development of the protocol.
