KWS SAAT SE & Co KGaA is a holding company, which engages in the breeding, development, and trade of crops. It operates through the following segments: Corn, Sugarbeet, Cereals, and Vegetable. The Corn segment covers breeding, production, and distribution of seed for corn and sunflowers, as well as production and distribution of soybeans. The Sugarbeet segment consists of sugarbeet seed breeding, production and distribution, as well as the development of diploid hybrid potatoes. The Cereals segment includes the breeding, production, and distribution of seed for rye, wheat, barley, and oilseed rape. The Vegetables segment focuses on vegetable seed breeding, production, and distribution. The company was founded by Matthias Christian Rabbethge and Julius Giesecke in 1856 and is headquartered in Einbeck, Germany.
