Akola Group AB engages in the trading and manufacturing of agricultural products. It operates through the following segments: Grain and Feedstuff Handling and Merchandising; Products and Services for Farming; Food Products; Agricultural Production; and Others. The Grain and Feedstuff Handling and Merchandising segment sells grain, oilseeds and feedstuffs, as well as grain storage and logistics services. The Products and Services for Farming segment offers retailing of seeds, plant protection products, fertilizers, agricultural and forestry machinery, grain storage, and other equipment. The Agricultural Production segment covers cultivation of cereals, oilseed rape, sugar beet and other crops, production of milk, and beef cattle farming. The Food Products segment comprises of incubation of hatching eggs, broiler breeding, production of poultry and its products, feed manufacturing for self supply, and retail sale of chicken meats. The Other segment consists of small activities which include grain elevators’ services to the third parties and sale of minor assets. The company was founded by Darius Zubas in 1991 and is headquartered in Vilnius, Lithuania.
