National Bank of Pakistan engages in the provision of commercial banking and related services. It operates through the following segments: Retail Banking Group, Inclusive Development Group, Corporate and Investment Banking Group, Treasury, International Financial Institution and Remittance Group, Aitemaad and Islamic Banking Group, and Head Office and Others. The Retail Banking Group segment includes retail lending and deposits, banking services, cards, and branchless banking. The Inclusive Development Group segment consists of loans to individuals, agriculture, SME, commodity, and commercial customers. The Corporate and Investment Banking Group segment offers financial services to medium and large-sized public and private sector entities. The Treasury segment is associated with fixed income, equity, foreign exchange, credit, funding, own position securities, lending and borrowings, and derivatives for hedging and market making. The International Financial Institution and Remittance Group segment focuses on the results of all international branches, correspondent banking business, and global remittances. The Aitemaad and Islamic Banking Group segment provides shariah compliant services to customers including loans, deposits, and other transactions. The Head Office and Others segment refers to the head office related activities and other functions which cannot be classified in any of the above segments. The company was founded on November 9, 1949, and is headquartered in Karachi, Pakistan.
