Igniting CandlesDisplays (and alerts) abrupt changes in volume, by default it compares previous candle volume to the current one but average volume over custom look-back period can be specified. Simply adjust filter to the volume change (or average volume) required before visual indication and alert will fire.
The theory is that large changes in volume forecast the future movement; certainly combine this indicator with other tools to build a more sound trading plan.
Volume
Modified TradingView's Up/Down Volume [vnhilton]
When plotting columns, histograms, etc. You'll notice that the indicator does not stick to the bottom of the pane. To fix this, you need another indicator (we'll call this 'placeholder') in the same pane as this indicator. Pin the placeholder indicator to the left scale, & pin the main indicator to the left scale. Then, pin the placeholder indicator to scale A, & finally the main indictor to the right scale.
Note: On the daily timeframes & higher, the up/down volume isn't accurate. Therefore, I've added a feature where you can toggle on the main indicator to disappear & only show ordinary total volume similar to the TradingView volume indicator.
The original code belongs to TradingView. This is a modified indicator that displays the down volume above the up volume similar to the volume profile. Also includes a moving average using the total volume, & a feature to display ordinary volume to solve the up/down inaccuracies on the daily timeframe & higher.
Clean ADX with bidirectional Breakout VolumeThe default Average Directional Index (ADX) helps traders determine the strength of a trend, not its actual direction. The Clean ADX helps traders determine the strength of a trend on a longer time, and the possible direction on different timeframes.
The bidirectional Breakout Volume determines both directions of breakout or breakdown volume. When volume is high by comparing the previous volume high over n periods to the current volume or when volume is lower by comparing the previous volume low over n periods to the current volume.
If the current volume exceeds the previous volume high or low, then the indicator columns will turn red or green.
This indicator should make trading easier and improve analysis. Nothing is worse than indicators that give confusingly different signals.
The combination of the first and second indicator therefore makes perfect sense to me and now you are able to find your long or short trends earlier.
I hope you enjoy my new ideas
best regards
Chervolino
Quantum CDV HistogramThis script is an addition to Fixed Quantum Cdv.
It shows vector cdv ratio in columns.
You can select the length as an input to how many bars to look back for the whole calculation.
The green bars represent the bullish values and the red bars the bearish values.
The green line represents an ema of the bullish value and the red line the ema of the bearish value.
The momentum ema (in purple) represent the cdv ratio (bullish - bearish).
When the momentum ema is at 100% or more it’s a good sell opportunity and when the momentum ema is at or under 100% it’s a good buy opportunity. It is not financial advise. Make sure to make your own analysis. This script help to make entries, but do not enter positions only based on this signal.
In the inputs you can select the emas that you want to display on your histogram.

Buyer to Seller Volume (BSV) Indicator As promised, here is the buyer to seller volume indicator!
About it/How it works:
The indicator tracks buying and selling volume. It does it simplistically but effectively simply by looking at red vs green candles and averaging out the volume of each respective candle.
It uses the SMA of buying/selling and overall volume to track buyers to sellers and also display the average volume traded over a designated period of time.
Legend:
Green lines = buying volume
Red lines = selling volume
Yellow lines = SMA over designated period of time (user input defined, default is 14 candles).
Buyers are shown in green and sellers are shown in red:
How to Use it:
Default, the indicator goes to 1 Day, 14 candle period.
My preference personally is to use to have it go to "chart" but you can view any time period on the chart that you want and designate the time period of volume you want to view independently.
This can be used for:
1. Identify trends: When buying or selling volume is above selling volume and above the SMA, you know that this persuasively supports a bullish trend. Inverse for the opposite (see below):
2. To identify fakeouts and whether there is volume backing a move:
3. To identify potential changes in trends via a cross:
Its also a great reference when you are unsure of a move. This indicator literally just saved me from wrongfully shorting the FOMC bear flag today:
Probably many other uses you can find, but these are the things I like to use it for!
As always, I have posted a tutorial video for your reference:
As always though, if you have any questions, comments or suggestions for the indicator, please share them below!
Safe trades and best of luck to all!
DollarVolume/MarketCap_Ratio (DVMC) This script simply displays the ratio of "Dollave Volume (Volume * Close)" to "Market Capitalization(Total Shares Outstanding * Close)" of stock.
Formula = (DollarVolume / MarketCap) * 100
Fixed Quantum CDVWe took the original script Cumulative delta volume from LonesomeTheBlue, here is the link:
To understand the CDV you can watch traders reality master class about CDV.
This indicator show the ratio of vector color and the ratio of the cumulative delta volume from vector color.
First you select a date range on the chart. Then it calculate all candles in that region. Let's say there is 3 green vectors and 3 red vectors in the region, the ratio of vector color will be 50% for bull and 50% for bear vector. As for the CDV ratio, it will measure the total CDV inside green vector and total CDV inside red vector and make a ratio. But it is a little different.
I twisted the calculation for the ratio of CDV a little bit to make it more comprehensive in the table. Since it's the ratio of the CDV for the bull candles versus the bear candles, the CDV is almost always a positive number for the bull candles and almost always a negative number for the bear candle. So I calculated the bear CDV as a positive number. Formula: Bull_CDV_ratio = Bull_CDV / (Bull_CDV + Bear_CDV), Bear_CDV_ratio = -Bear_CDV / (Bull_CDV - Bear_CDV).
Note that when the bull CDV and bear CDV are both a positive number or both a negative number, the ratio percentage can be over 100% and under 0%. It means that we expect volatility.
Enjoy!
Volatility Trackerhi there, fellows.
this is a very simple and quite straightforward indicator.
so far the simplest we've built.
on what it does
in regard to current chart and timeframe it plots
a. Open - Close as a percentage of the Open (we regard open as more relevant than close, for as you can use latest estimates in current candle) in daily change coloring (so one may have an idea if there is a trend or sideways move unfolding)
b. High - Low as a percentage of the Open, so one may compare extreme moves with final ones in the period
c. Volume as a percentage distance from its WMA200 (always this one, a way better reference for normalcy). (e. g. a positive value x means Volume is x% above its WMA200)
on what it means
to the best of our imperfect and incomplete understanding, we believe that low volatility periods lead to high volatility periods, so one might want to enter the market in low volatility periods to enjoy wild rides afterwards. such a trade of course would be, for the sake of making sense, a long volatility one.
the timing for entrance could be once that the volatility waves fades to chart minimums.
we're open to critics, suggestions and comments.
best regards.

ZenBot Signals - Trend StrengthI developed this indicator as a "regime detection" for my algo trading bot. It uses the ADX +/- values with a few twists.
- If ADX DI+ is over 30 and DI- is below 20 and falling (inverse for shorts)
- Price action rising/falling thru various VWAP standard deviations indicates a strong trend break
- Some other custom juju (open source so have fun).
I use this primarily to monitor the SPY index as a backdrop for my long and short trades. If the colored line below price bars is red or green, a strong trend is present and there is a decent trade environment.
Order Block Detector [LuxAlgo]This script makes use of high-volume activity as an indicator of the presence of market participants accumulating orders in specific areas on a lower timeframe by detecting volume peaks to form order blocks.
Mitigated order blocks are automatically hidden from the chart, also allowing users to be able to select two different mitigation methods "wick" and "close".
Additionally, users can be alerted for the creation and mitigation of bullish/bearish order blocks.
Settings
Volume Pivot Length: Lookback of the pivot function used to detect volume peaks, lower values will detect order blocks more frequently.
Bullish OB: Determines the number of most recent unmitigated bullish order blocks to display on the chart.
Bearish OB: Determines the number of most recent unmitigated bullish order blocks to display on the chart.
Bearish OB: Determines the number of most recent unmitigated bullish order blocks to display on the chart.
Average Line Style: Line style of the average order block level.
Average Line Width: Line width of the average order block level.
Mitigation Methods: Method used to determine how an order block is mitigated. "Wick" will mitigate order blocks if the candle wick goes outside of the order block and "Close" will mitigate order blocks if the closing price goes outside of the order block.
Usage
It is common for more significant market participants to execute orders incrementally in order to avoid overwhelming the market and cause significant price movements. This practice allows the orders to be executed more efficiently and effectively, reducing the impact on the market and minimizing the potential for price volatility.
Order blocks are price areas where these orders are executed incrementally and are commonly used as areas of support/resistance for traders.
Bearish order blocks occur during a downtrend, while bullish order blocks occur in an uptrend. Bullish order blocks range from the price low to the median price, while bearish order blocks range from the median price to the price high. The median price is used as an equilibrium point.
Users can highlight the bars where an order block was detected from the style settings by toggling on the 'Bull OB' or 'Bear OB' selections.
Note that in order to confirm a peak Volume Pivot Length bars are needed, as such note that order blocks are shown retrospectively.
Moving Average Based Zig ZagMoving Average Based Zig Zag differs from the traditional Zig Zag indicator in that pivot points are determined by a moving average, Volume Weighted Hull Moving Average, rather than looking for the highest or lowest point in a left / right period.
Settings
Source: the source for the pivot points.
Moving Average Length: the length of the Volume Weighted Hull Moving Average, increase for longer zig zags, decrease for shorter zig zags.
Usage
Like all Zig Zag indicators, the Moving Average Based Zig Zag is not intended to be used as a live trading tool. This indicator is intended to be an alternative way of determining pivot points on your chart. Pivot points can be used for a multitude of different analytical techniques. One may use pivot points in order to draw potential support and resistance lines, trend lines or chart patterns. Additionally, pivot points can be used to determine variations of highs and lows important to market structure analysis such as break of structure or change of character.
Details
The moving average used is a Volume Weighted Hull Moving Average, this particular moving average was used due to it's relatively low-lag characteristics when compared to an Exponential Moving Average, additionally by considering volume in the moving average calculation, insignificant pivot points can be further filtered.
Rather than using built-in functions `ta.pivothigh()` and `ta.pivotlow()` to determine pivot points, this indicator waits for the moving average to pivot then searches for the highest or lowest value from the bar index of the moving average pivot to the bar index of the previous found price pivot. This method of determining pivots provides a more dynamic approach to determining pivot points.
Open Interest Profile (OI)- By LeviathanThis script implements the concept of Open Interest Profile, which can help you analyze the activity of traders and identify the price levels where they are opening/closing their positions. This data can serve as a confluence for finding the areas of support and resistance , targets and placing stop losses. OI profiles can be viewed in the ranges of days, weeks, months, Tokyo sessions, London sessions and New York sessions.
A short introduction to Open Interest
Open Interest is a metric that measures the total amount of open derivatives contracts in a specific market at a given time. A valid contract is formed by both a buyer who opens a long position and a seller who opens a short position. This means that OI represents the total value of all open longs and all open shorts, divided by two. For example, if Open Interest is showing a value of $1B, it means that there is $1B worth of long and $1B worth of short contracts currently open/unsettled in a given market.
OI increasing = new long and short contracts are entering the market
OI decreasing = long and short contracts are exiting the market
OI unchanged = the net amount of positions remains the same (no new entries/exits or just a transfer of contracts occurring)
About this indicator
*This script is basically a modified version of my previous "Market Sessions and Volume Profile by @LeviathanCapital" indicator but this time, profiles are generated from Tradingview Open Interest data instead of volume (+ some other changes).
The usual representation of OI shows Open Interest value and its change based on time (for a particular day, time frame or each given candle). This indicator takes the data and plots it in a way where you can see the OI activity (change in OI) based on price levels. To put it simply, instead of observing WHEN (time) positions are entering/exiting the market, you can now see WHERE (price) positions are entering/exiting the market. This is the same concept as when it comes to Volume and Volume profile and therefore, similar strategies and ways of understanding the given data can be applied here. You can even combine the two to gain an edge (eg. high OI increase + Volume Profile showing dominant market selling = possible aggressive shorts taking place)
Green nodes = OI increase
Red nodes = OI decrease
A cluster of large green nodes can be used for support and resistance levels (*trapped traders theory) or targets (lots of liquidations and stop losses above/below), OI Profile gaps can present an objective for the price to fill them (liquidity gaps, imbalances, inefficiencies, etc), and more.
Indicator settings
1. Session/Lookback - Choose the range from where the OI Profile will be generated
2. OI Profile Mode - Mode 1 (shows only OI increase), Mode 2 (shows both OI increase and decrease), Mode 3 (shows OI decrease on left side and OI increase on the right side).
3. Show OI Value Area - Shows the area where most OI activity took place (useful as a range or S/R level )
4. Show Session Box - Shows the box around chosen sessions/lookback
5. Show Profile - Show/hide OI Profile
6. Show Current Session - Show/hide the ongoing session
7. Show Session Labels - Show/hide the text labels for each session
8. Resolution - The higher the value, the more refined a profile is, but fewer profiles are shown on the chart
9. OI Value Area % - Choose the percentage of VA (same as in Volume Profile's VA)
10. Smooth OI Data - Useful for assets that have very large spikes in OI over large bars, helps create better profiles
11. OI Increase - Pick the color of OI increase nodes in the profile
12. OI Decrease - Pick the color of OI decrease nodes in the profile
13. Value Area Box - Pick the color of the Value Area Box
14. Session Box Thickness - Pick the thickness of the lines surrounding the chosen sessions
Advice
The indicator calculates the profile based on candles - the more candles you can show, the better profile will be formed. This means that it's best to view most sessions on timeframes like 15min or lower. The only exception is the Monthly profile, where timeframes above 15min should be used. Just take a few minutes and switch between timeframes and sessions and you will figure out the optimal settings.
This is the first version of Open Interest Profile script so please understand that it will be improved in future updates.
Thank you for your support.
** Some profile generation elements are inspired by @LonesomeTheBlue's volume profile script
Day Trading Booster by DGTTiming when day trading can be everything
In Stock markets typically more volatility (or price activity) occurs at market opening and closings
When it comes to Forex (foreign exchange market), the world’s most traded market, unlike other financial markets, there is no centralized marketplace, currencies trade over the counter in whatever market is open at that time, where time becomes of more importance and key to get better trading opportunities. There are four major forex trading sessions, which are Sydney , Tokyo , London and New York sessions
Forex market is traded 24 hours a day, 5 days a week across by banks, institutions and individual traders worldwide, but that doesn’t mean it’s always active the entire day. It may be very difficult time trying to make money when the market doesn’t move at all. The busiest times with highest trading volume occurs during the overlap of the London and New York trading sessions, because U.S. dollar (USD) and the Euro (EUR) are the two most popular currencies traded. Typically most of the trading activity for a specific currency pair will occur when the trading sessions of the individual currencies overlap. For example, Australian Dollar (AUD) and Japanese Yen (JPY) will experience a higher trading volume when both Sydney and Tokyo sessions are open
There is one influence that impacts Forex matkets and should not be forgotten : the release of the significant news and reports. When a major announcement is made regarding economic data, currency can lose or gain value within a matter of seconds
Cryptocurrency markets on the other hand remain open 24/7, even during public holidays
Until 2021, the Asian impact was so significant in Cryptocurrency markets but recent reasearch reports shows that those patterns have changed and the correlation with the U.S. trading hours is becoming a clear evolving trend.
Unlike any other market Crypto doesn’t rest on weekends, there’s a drop-off in participation and yet algorithmic trading bots and market makers (or liquidity providers) can create a high volume of activity. Never trust the weekend’ is a good thing to remind yourself
One more factor that needs to be taken into accout is Blockchain transaction fees, which are responsive to network congestion and can change dramatically from one hour to the next
In general, Cryptocurrency markets are highly volatile, which means that the price of a coin can change dramatically over a short time period in either direction
The Bottom Line
The more traders trading, the higher the trading volume, and the more active the market. The more active the market, the higher the liquidity (availability of counterparties at any given time to exit or enter a trade), hence the tighter the spreads (the difference between ask and bid price) and the less slippage (the difference between the expected fill price and the actual fill price) - in a nutshell, yield to many good trading opportunities and better order execution (a process of filling the requested buy or sell order)
The best time to trade is when the market is the most active and therefore has the largest trading volume, trading all day long will not only deplete a trader's reserves quickly, but it can burn out even the most persistent trader. Knowing when the markets are more active will give traders peace of mind, that opportunities are not slipping away when they take their eyes off the markets or need to get a few hours of sleep
What does the Day Trading Booster do?
Day Trading Booster is designed ;
- to assist in determining market peak times, the times where better trading opportunities may arise
- to assist in determining the probable trading opportunities
- to help traders create their own strategies. An example strategy of when to trade or not is presented below
For Forex markets specifically includes
- Opening channel of Asian session, Europien session or both
- Opening price, opening range (5m or 15m) and day (session) range of the major trading center sessions, including Frankfurt
- A tabular view of the major forex markets oppening/closing hours, with a countdown timer
- A graphical presentation of typically traded volume and various forext markets oppening/clossing events (not only the major markets but many other around the world)
For All type of markets Day Trading Booster plots
- Day (Session) Open, 5m, 15m or 1h Opening Range
- Day (Session) Referance Levels, based on Average True Range (ATR) or Previous Day (Session) Range (PH - PL)
- Week and Month Open
Day Trading Booster also includes some of the day trader's preffered indicaotrs, such as ;
- VWAP - A custom interpretaion of VWAP is presented here with Auto, Interactive and Manual anchoring options.
- Pivot High/Low detection - Another custom interpretation of Pivot Points High Low indicator.
- A Moving Average with option to choose among SMA, EMA, WMA and HMA
An example strategy - Channel Bearkout Strategy
When day trading a trader usually monitors/analyzes lower timeframe charts and from time to time may loose insight of what really happens on the market from higher time porspective. Do not to forget to look at the larger time frame (than the one chosen to trade with) which gives the bigger picture of market price movements and thus helps to clearly define the trend

Outliers Detector with N-Sigma Confidence Intervals (TG fork)Display outliers in either value change, volume or volume change that significantly deviate from the past.
This uses the standard deviation calculation and the n-sigmas statistical rule of significance, with 2-sigma (a value of 2) signifying that the observed value is stronger than 95% of past values, and 3-sigma 98.5% of past values, and so on for higher sigma values.
Outliers in price action or in volume can indicate a strong support for the move, and hence potentially more moves in the same direction in the future. Inversely, an insignificant move is less likely to be supported. And of course the stronger, the more support.
This indicator also doubles as a standard volume indicator if volume is selected as the source, but with the option of highlighting outliers.
Bars below significance can be uncolored (gray) to unclutter the visuals.
Differently to almost all other similar indicators, the background highlighting is dynamical, so that all values will be highlighted differently, not just 2-sigma or 3-sigma, but also 4-sigma, 5-sigma, etc, with a different value of transparency.
The dynamical transparency value can be calculated in two ways: either statically proportionally to the n-sigma but capped at 10-sigma, or either as a ratio relative to the highest observed sigma value over the defined lookback period (default: 300).
If you like this indicator, which is an extension of previously published indicators, please give some love to the original authors:
* tvjvzl :
* vnhilton :
This extension, authored by Tartigradia, extends tvjvzl's indi, implements vnhilton's idea of highlighting the background, and go further by adding dynamical background highlighting for any value of sigma, add support for volume and volume change (VolumeDiff) as inputs, add option to uncolor insignificant bars, allow plotting in both directions and more.
True Accumulation/Distribution (TG fork)An accumulation/distribution indicator that works better against gaps and with trend coloring.
Accumulation/Distribution was developed by Marc Chaikin to provide insight into strength of a trend by measuring flow of buy and sell volume .
The fact that A/D only factors current period's range for calculating the volume multiplier causes problem with price gaps. They are ignored or even misinterpreted.
True Accumulation/Distribution solves the problem by using True Range instead of only relying on current period's high and low.
Most of the time, True A/D reverts to producing the same values as the original A/D. The difference between True A/D and original A/D can be better seen when a gap has occurred, True A/D has handles it better than Accumulation/Distribution which a bearish close in period's range cause it to misinterpret the strong buy pressure as sell volume
The Moving Average Cloud is simply the filling between the moving average and the True A/D. This feature was inspired by D7R ACC/DIST closed-source indicator, kudos to D7R for making such neat visual indicators (but unfortunately all closed source!).
This indicator was made to extend the original work by adding MTF support and a moving average cloud and coloring.
If you like this indicator, please show the original author RezzaHmt some love:
Liquidations by volume (TG fork)Shows actual liquidations on a per-candle basis by using the difference in volume between spot and futures markets.
i.e. volume on a futures market will be much higher if there are many liquidations.
By default, green represents short liquidations (hence a bullish move, hence why it's green), whereas red is for long liquidations (bearish move). The colors can be changed in the settings if you prefer an inverted theme.
Long liquidation data should in theory be more accurate than short liquidation data due to the inability to short on a spot market.
This indicator should be able to help identify trends by determining liquidation points in the chart.
Extended by Tartigradia to automatically detect the symbol (only for crypto assets found on Binance with a USDTPERP pair, so it works for ETH, BNB, etc) and add multi-timeframe support (MTF).
If you like the indicator, please show the original author Thomas_Davison some love:
Volume composition / quantifytools— Overview
While net volume is useful information, it can be a blunt data point. Volume composition breaks down the content of volume, allowing a more detailed look inside each volume node. Volume composition consists of the following information:
Total volume (buy and sell). By default gray node.
Dominating volume (buy or sell). By default dark green/dark red node.
Dominating active volume (buy or sell). By default light green/light red node.
Dominating volume as percentage of total volume.
Dominating active volume as percentage of total active volume.
Buy and sell volume is defined by volume associated with lower timeframe up/down moves. This classification is further broken down to passive/active, standing for decreasing/increasing volume, e.g. a move up with volume higher than previous bar volume = active buy volume, a move up with volume lower than previous bar volume = passive buy volume.
Volume data is fetched from a lower timeframe that is automatically adjusted to fit the timeframe you're using. By default, the following settings are applied:
Charts <= 30 min: 1 minute timeframe
Charts > 30 min & <= 3 hours : 5 minute timeframe
Charts > 3 hours & <= 8 hours : 15 minute timeframe
Charts > 8 hours & <= 1D: 1 hour timeframe
Charts > 1D & <= 3D : 2 hour timeframe
Charts > 3D: 4 hour timeframe
Timeframe settings can be changed via input menu. The lower the timeframe, the more precision you get but with the cost of less historical data and slower loading time. Users can also choose which source to use for determining buy/sell volume, e.g. using close as source, a close that is higher than previous close would be considered as buy volume. This could be replaced with OHLC4 for example, resulting in a volume direction based on OHLC average.
Volume composition of current chart can also be replaced with any other chart volume composition:
— Visuals
Breakdown of visual elements:
1. Symbol and timeframe used for volume composition calculations. By default the chart that is viewed and automatically selected lower timeframe.
2. Dominating volume threshold exceeded. Can be defined via input menu, 70% of total volume by default.
3. Dominating volume as percentage of total volume. Plotted below volume nodes, without % symbol.
4. Dominating active volume, + or - symbol, standing for buy and sell. Plotted below dominating volume percentage. When dominating volume and dominating active volume sides are in a disagreement (e.g. dominating volume is on buy side while dominating active volume is on sell side) this symbol will appear inside brackets, (+) or (-).
5. Dominating active volume as percentage of total active volume. Plotted below +/- symbol.
6. Dominating active volume threshold exceeded. Can be defined via input menu, 70% by default.
Dominating volume & active volume percentages can be rounded to single numbers to avoid clutter caused by overlapping values. The percentage values will be rounded to closest single number value, e.g. dominating volume percentage at 54% = 5, dominating volume percentage at 55% = 6.
Volume anomalies can be highlighted on the chart with a color for studying the events and their past implications in greater detail. Available anomalies for highlights are the following:
Buy volume threshold exceeded
Sell volume threshold exceeded
Active buy volume threshold exceeded
Active sell volume threshold exceeded
Volume & active volume divergence
— Practical guide
Volume is arguably one of the most important data points as it directly relates to liquidity. High volume can be an indication of strength (price likely to continue moving) or absorption (price likely to halt/turn). Same applies to active volume, but with an element of aggression. High active volume serves as an indication of exuberance or otherwise forceful transacting, like stop losses triggering. With these principles in mind, the composition of volume allows distinguishing potentially important events.
Example #1 : Identifying areas of trapped market participants
Often when volume spikes distinctively, we can make the case that price has found sufficient liquidity to halt/turn. Since we know which side was absorbed, in what quantity and type (passive/active), we can identify areas of trapped market participants. In such scenarios, the higher the dominant active volume and volume spike itself, the better.
Example #2 : Identifying a healthy trend
A healthy trend is one that has an active and consistent bid driving it. When this is the case, it can be seen in consistently supportive active volume.
Example #3 : Identifying inflection points
When dominant side of volume and dominant side of active volume diverge, something is up. A divergence often marks an area of indecision, hinting an imminent move one way or the other.
Outlier Detecting Cumulative Moving Average (ODCMA)This is a simple moving average with a rolling length that resets whenever there is an outlier in the data. I have also included volume weighting.
The length represents the lookback period for the outlier detection and the "Outlier Detection" is the deviation level to trigger the detection. You can select from: price detection, volume detection, price or volume detection, price and volume detection.
I hope you can find this script useful. Its like a session weighted moving average but instead it retriggers the cumulative sum whenever there is an outlier.
Musashi_Katana=== Musashi-Katana ===
This tool was designed to fit my particular trading style and personal theories about the "Alchemy of the markets" and ''Harmonic Structure'.
Context
When following a Technical approach to to surf the markets, there are teachings that must be understood before reaching a confort-zone, this usually happen the possible worst way by constant experimentation, it hurts.
Here few technical hints:
- Align High timeframes with lower timeframes:
This simple concept relax a lot complexity of finding of a trend bias. Musashi-Katana allows you to use technical indicator corresponding to specific timeframes, like daily weekly or yearly. They wont change when you change the chart's timeframe, its very useful as you know where you're standing in the long term, Its quite relaxing.
- Use volume:
The constant usage of volume will allow you to sync with the market's breathing. This shows you the mass of money flowing into and out of the market, is key if you want to understand momentum. This tool can help here, as it have multi-period vwaps. You can use yearly, monthly for swing trading, and even weekly if you enjoy scalping.
Useful stuff:
- You have access to baselines, AMA and Kijun-sen with the possibility of adding ATR bands.
- AMAs come as two lines strategies for different approaches, fast medium or slow.
- You can experiment with normal and multi timeframe moving averages and other trend tools.
Final Note
If used correctly Musashi-Katana is a very powerful tool, which makes no sense as there is no correct usage. Don't add everything at the same time, experiment, combine stuff, every market is different.
Backtest every possible strategy before using it, see what works and doesn't. This gives you a lot of peace, specially while you're at the tip of the spear surfing the markets
--> I personally use this in combination with 'Musashi_Slasher (Mometum+Volatility)', as it gives me volatility and momentum in a very precise way.

Volume CVD and Open InterestVolume, Cumulative Delta Volume and Open Interest are great indications of strength and sentiment in the market. Until now they have required separate indicators, but this indicator can show them all.
With a clean and aesthetic plot, this indicator has the option to choose the data source:
- Volume - the total volume of transactions, buys and sells
- Up Volume - the total volume from buys only
- Down Volume - the total volume from sells only
- Up/Down Volume (Net) - the difference in the Buy Volume and Sell Volume
- Cumulative Delta - the sum of the up/down volume for the previous 14 bars
- Cumulative Delta EMA - a smoothed average of the sum of the up/down volume for the previous 14 bars, over a 14 period EMA
- Open Interest - a user defined ticker, whose value is added to the plot, while this is designed to be used with Open Interest tickers, you can actually choose any ticker you want, perhaps you want to see DXY while charting Bitcoin!
There are several customization features for the colour of the plot, with a nice gradient colouring from high to low. You can choose the lookback which defines only the highest and lowest values for the colour gradient. There is also an option for how the Open Interest value is determined, based on Close, Open or differences between previous values.
While similar, Volume and Open Interest are not the same. To me the simplest explanation is Volume shows the trades that have been executed and the buy/sell direction, while Open Interest shows the value of open trades that are yet to be completed.
Volume shows strength, sentiment and volatility.
Open Interest does not show direction, but does indicate momentum and liquidity in the market.
