BITCOIN: Question of the month - does it have any value?People certainly think that Bitcoin has value! How do I know? Because there is incontrovertible evidence that in recent days people have gone greedy for it. However there is expert opinion (which shall remain nameless) that Bitcoin is NOTHING and has no value at all. I'm really amused by this opinion because it flies in the face of evidence.
The chart shown in this screencast is the evidence of BTCUSD running a very hot RSI again! Billions have been spent buying this thing that is called 'nothing' by the good and great.
Arguments for Bitcoin being ' nothing ' is that it is ' thin air '. Oops that must mean that when I transfer fiat money wirelessly I'm transferring 'nothing' too - cuz I certainly do not transfer metal or paper money when I use my credit or debit card.
A few months ago I even showed that it is now possible to transfer solid Gold electronically - which now makes Gold to be 'thin air' - if this so-called expert out there (nobody on Tradingview) is correct.
What many a guru out there fails to understand is that the value of anything is what people are willing to attach to it. But some people then argue that a) BTC is nothing and b) it has no intrinsic value . Of course most of the people who chunter about 'intrinsic value' cannot define what they mean. All value is represented by how much people are willing to exchange for some 'thing'. The 'thing' certainly does not need to be physically tangible in the hand. Why? How? Because most (fiat) money in the world is not held in the hands - these days.
A measure of value is also how much effort, labour or service one may be willing to exchange to acquire 'the thing'. There was a time when money did not exist. That did not mean that nothing on earth had value! Way back then, value in physical form may have been represented in food items e.g. sacks of potatoes, livestock, water etc. So - if you lived back in that time, you might be willing to exchange so many hours of work for potatoes. You might then trade your potatoes for something else you wanted to acquire from somebody else.
Even stocks/shares are 'thin air'. The piece of paper stating your ownership is only proof of promise and a record. To trade the stock you gotta do that via a broker etc - and that activity is electronic, in the vast majority of cases.
'Value' and some 'things' exist only in the mind. BTC is the result of a mathematical equation and its value exists as 'thin air' in the minds of people - as does all value.
Today Bitcoin is a vehicle of value for something. It doesn't matter if it is made out of thin air.
US Oil: A big challengeUS Oil presents some serious challenges for those looking to short this market.
This analysis is time frame dependent. Which way you might want to go depends entirely on trends in respective time frames.
DAILY PICTURE
1. On the daily time frame this is very much a bull market. We can see that in the ATR (amber trendline) and the green Guppy investor zone.
2. On the daily price has made a temporary retreat to near ATR support, in a parabolic limb of the curve.
3. If anything this is usually a place to go long (on this time frame).
4H - FOUR HOURLY PICTURE
1. There is an early trend switch for the south.
2. This is seen on the ATR and SQM (Squeeze momentum).
3. But it isn't as yet a Grade A or Grade B switch.
DECISION-MAKING (Speculative issues)
1. Finding appropriate entry point on a chosen time frame.
2. For a limited hit going long (north) on the 4H, taking a reasonable stop loss and taking only about a 26 or 38.2 Fib retracement of the most recent daily candle.
3. For a limited hit going short (south) on the 4H, a larger stop-loss is required.
4. Possibly going long on the daily and hold out.
As usual before starting any trade on any time frame common things need to be decided:
1. Time frame one will stick to (1D, 4H or something else).
2. Entry position.
3. Stop-loss.
4. Exit position.
Stop-losses on 4H and less need to cater for short spikes in price. So simply saying 2.5 times ATR may not be enough.
Based on experience only of US Oil, I can expect a recoil up on the 4H but of course, I can't predict how much. As mentioned above I can expect at least a 26% Fib on the length of the last daily candle. Expectation is not prediction.

NZDUSD BUY Technical Analysis:
-Micro downtrend broken and is now being retested on the backside
-Longer term uptrend has a 3rd touch and aggressive bullish candle from the two trend lines
-Support & Resistance in the purple zone
-Correlation with bullish AUD
*Did not look at trading plan before executing this trade*
*Similar to the AUDJPY call but this was a little later and now price was closer to both the trend lines and we were actually here for the bullish respect*
XAUUSD LONGAnalysis:
-1hr structure continuation to the upside
-70-79% rejection
-MA Bounce/Reject
-Long bullish hammer on MA
-Previous Resistance becoming support
-4 hr doji candle
Emotions:
-Woke up late and rushed
-Wasn't even supposed to be able to look at charts this morning so grateful for that
-Skimmed through analysis
-Didn't read through my trading plan
-Was not focused or in the zone
-Was feeling a little hesitant with some opportunities because I did not want to enter too many trades.
12/20/2018 EURUSD 5m and 15m Reversal on MA100 and Upper ChannelBreakout run from EUR open, followed by stop run through 1.1442.
On the 5m chart, 3 pushes shows slowing momentum.
On the 15m chart, doji reversal followed by bearish price action (solid red down). Perfect opportunity to enter when it pulled back to 1.1472.
On the 1h chart, reversal swung to fib618, where another 5m and 15m reversal appeared.
Another reversal surely confused the bulls and paid 1:4
Longs and shorts: short analysis! It seems like people is opening more shorts (red line) with respect to (green line).
This keeps pressure for the bulls and the price is not showing bounce signals.
Keep also in mind that the total shorts opened are still less than total long opened.
We suggest to keep short and longs in consideration before making any trade on ethereum, as the price is very volatile due the low volumes.
EURUSD / H4 / Cypher PatternAs many of You are familiar with the Cypher Pattern. In this Scanerio We have Cypher Last Leg in formation which will complete the Pattern and from where we can place our Long position
Typical Cypher has these Fib Levels
1- Cypher pattern starts with the X and A points
2- Point B retraces to 0.382 – 0.618 Fibonacci level of the leg XA
3- Point C is formed when prices extend the XA leg by at least 1.272 or within 1.130 – 1.414 Fibonacci extension
4- Point D is formed when it retraces 0.782 Fibonacci level of XC.
How I trade this Pattern ?
First of all at the Completion of D , I personally Dont place orders ,What i do is
1- wait for market to go close to X to get a Good R/R
2- wait for double bottom on H1 or H4
3- Candlestic formation ( Bullish Hammer or Bullish Engulfing Candle)
Targets :
First TP is 0.382 Fiv retracement from C to D
TP2 can be varied Depending on Structure levels
SL : Below the X

The global trend is starting to change? How to understand when the global trend is starting to change?
The issue of trend reversal is very acute at the moment, because we are witnessing a rather long fall and one of the longest corrections now. And to be precise, this is the second biggest correction.
How to found out the moment has come and you need to urgently buy up everything so you do not cry you did not buy the Bitcoin for 6500, when it already costs 25k?
In fact, no one professional analyst or trader can say exactly the trend has reversed. There are always certain moments which just do not allow you to be 100% sure.
But we can give you some signs will help you understand it's time to make neat purchases:
1. Long fall. When you notice price decline continues for quite a long time, this is a sign the turn is getting closer and closer.
2. Falling volumes . If the volume falls noticeably in the long price decline, this is one of the strong signs an impulsive reversal is coming.
3. The price is on par or returns constantly to the same level. Certainly, the correction does not continue all the time, and if it can be seen the price returns to the level of the beginning of the rebound after local bounces, it means the “bottom” is somewhere nearby.
4. Slow motion. When the correction comes to an end, price movements slow down and overall volatility decreases dramatically.
5. Psychology of the environment. For example, when there was a big pump to $ 20,000 per bitcoin, all the people around were talking about cryptocurrency, everyone wanted to buy it, there was, so to say, an overload of the people industry. Then it was a sign it was time to close positions and wait for the falling. It is enough to interpret this observation.
These are the data we have noticed and collected to you understand the market could turn around. Surely, there are a lot of moments, but we gave you the most common and basic ones.
Thank you for attention! Let profit come to your home
ANAB - "ANAB-tomy" Of A Winning Long Trade?Sorry for the stuffy nose! Nonetheless, here I talk about qualities of a trade that help determine it as a winner. This is just a short version of what to look for, just to give some of the things to consider in the process. As a general statement, there are 2 things that make up a stock: technical factors (price behavior) & fundamental factors (financial statement info).
Fundamentals are important for longterm investments where company growth & strength are important, since over time, more people will get interested and buy the stock in the future for further price appreciation (5-10+ years for a solid investment). Simple fundamentals just looks at company profits and how much cash the company has access to, but for a detailed fundamental analysis, the company will need to be known and understood on a very high level as if the investor is one of he founders of the company. Before the investment is made, you must know almost everything about how goods/services reach the consumer/customer. For a trader, correct technical analysis is most important (everyone can do technical analysis, but it takes time to do it in a more realistic fashion without dreaming too much or trying too hard to predict a specific future price action). The more factors that favor your objective to buy the stock, whether as a trade or investment, the more likely you will win from the trade. Here is the list from the video:
1. Technical favor
-Price accumulation: price usually builds up slowly before exploding upward in an uptrend, with only few/small price corrections in the trend (it is hard to see this early but it is typically only obvious late AFTER the trend has started)
-Volatility contraction-expansion: I talk about this all the time I'll skip it; it is very important to always look for though
-Price eagerness to increase: when price keeps trying to push upward to newer levels, this tells that at least there are also other people who see the stock going higher and are willing to put their money on the line for it
-Supportive base: the price action should show you that the price has no interest in testing lower levels, which means there are no aggressive sellers, investors or other traders are not selling off and there is a positive sentiment toward the stock
-Industry/Sector performance: this was not included in the video, but it usually gives you a great technical context especially when you are diversifying or trying to pick a home run stock (it's still very difficult to pick one though)
2. Fundamental favor (if considering longterm investing)
-EPS growth past 3-5yrs (should mirror revenue/net income): this tells you the company's plan to grow/expand and make profit in the process is working, and hence the company is still appealing to old and newer investors
-Free cash flow: I didn't explain this well in the video, but I meant to say that a good cash flow means the company has cash on hand aside from other assets to be able to pay off any debt or sudden expenses today if the need arises (this is a very simplified version just to give you an idea)
Let's see what ANAB can do! Looking forward to comments or PM discussions.
Paper Portfolio vs S&P500 - IntroThis is the introduction to the video series here to grow the paper portfolio on TradingView in an attempt to beat the S&P500 in real time. The reasoning behind this is that it is usually difficult to start trading stocks especially because you don't know what you don't know. It generally takes a couple of years for a trader to make a whole bunch of mistakes, before reaching a level of understanding to see right vs wrong, and even then the trader still learns something new every day.
It took me a couple of years to make even the tiniest sense of what was going on in the market and all along I thought was going to beat the slim odds and master the stock market in 3-5 months! I decided to make this as a way to further challenge myself and to show other traders who are struggling with the process. This will not be a one time "get rich quick" process with excessive risk-taking or gambling, but a more disciplined approach to trading without all the bs that floods the internet these days. Hopefully, the portfolio beats the S&P500, but if not we will live to fight another day (many large funds cannot beat the S&P500 so it's totally fine).
Trades based on my personal trading strategy (detail about when and why certain trades are placed) including concepts about sticking to a trading plan, risk management and trading psychology. Monthly updates on the current state of the portfolio will be made starting from 09/06/18 and every month from that point onward . The goal is mainly to help other traders learn good things and do away with bad habits, and secondarily attempt to beat the S&P500 in real time
Starting capital - $10,000
Risk per trade - 1%
Max. positions at a time - 20
Investment style - Equities long only (no short-selling, only stocks >$7, technical analysis > fundamental analysis)
Again, the stocks that will be shown will not be shown as investment advice but rather shown as a form of education only. Comment on what you would like to see or hear more about!
Thanks and stay tuned (will try to keep videos 5-7 mins long)!
